Terms of Use
The rules for using MaterialCalculate’s free calculators, guides and articles.
Last updated: November 5, 2026
In short
You can use our calculators and guides for free, for personal or business projects. Results are planning estimates, not professional advice, so always confirm quantities with your supplier and get an engineer for structural work. By using the site, you agree to these terms.
Acceptance of these terms
These Terms of Use apply to materialcalculate.com (“MaterialCalculate”, “we”, “us”). By accessing or using the site, you agree to them and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the site.
Estimates, not professional advice
Our calculators and guides give general estimates based on the values you enter and on common industry assumptions such as material density, bag yield and waste allowance. Real projects vary. Moisture, compaction, site conditions, product differences and local codes can all change what you need.
Nothing on this site is engineering, architectural, legal or financial advice. Confirm final quantities and prices with your supplier, follow manufacturer instructions and local building codes, and consult a qualified professional for anything structural, load-bearing or safety-critical.
Acceptable use
You agree not to misuse the site. That includes trying to disrupt or overload it, scraping or copying content or calculators in bulk, reverse engineering our tools to republish them, using automated means to inflate traffic or ad interactions, or using the site for anything unlawful.
Intellectual property
The text, tables, calculators, code, graphics and design of this site belong to MaterialCalculate or its licensors and are protected by copyright and other laws. You may share links to our pages and quote short excerpts with a link back. You may not republish our calculators or substantial parts of our content without written permission.
Advertising and third-party links
The site is funded by advertising and may show ads from third parties. We may also link to supplier, manufacturer or reference websites. We do not control and are not responsible for third-party ads, products, websites or their content, and a link or ad is not an endorsement.
No warranty
We work hard to keep our formulas and figures accurate, but the site is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no warranties of any kind about the accuracy, completeness or suitability of any result, and we do not promise the site will always be available or error-free.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, MaterialCalculate is not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the site or reliance on any estimate. This includes over-ordering or under-ordering materials, project delays, cost overruns and indirect or consequential losses. Some places do not allow certain limits on liability, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
Changes to the site and these terms
We may add, change or remove calculators and content at any time. We may also update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version, and continued use of the site after a change means you accept the updated terms.
